Navegación y Trekking en el Lago y Glaciar Viedma
nos costó subir el promontorio rocoso más cuando era un día de mucho viento y adaptarnos al principio con los granpones pero luego fue fantástico, me hbiera gustado poder ingresar alguna de las cuevas formadas por los glaciares, lo que si indicaría ir mas despacio ya que los que son mas lentos quedan un poco sin aliento

DESCPRIPTION

The tour to Viedma Lake and Glacier starts at the office of the service operator. It offers visitors a chance to travel along the largest lake among those formed by glaciers - with an estimated area in excess of 1,000 square km (386 square mi.), 80 kilometers (50 mi.) long, and 15 kilometers (9 mi.) wide.

Visitors will disembark on the rocky promontory in front of Viedma glacier, to then travel around this amazing place -from where the glacier withdrew a few years ago-, and thus take a first-hand look at the result from different erosion processes.

The tour continues with a trek around the glacier, where visitors may have the chance to visit ice caverns, a phenomenon that depends on the glacier’s typical dynamics. Then, visitors will put on the crampons to walk on the largest surface of glacial ice in Los Glaciares National Park.

Moving ahead, a boat trip will be made to sail in front of the very glacier and contemplate its impressive height (about 55 meters/180.5 ft.). Visitors will have the opportunity to see many different blue shades created by the strong pressures to which the ice is subject during its descent to Lake Viedma, when passing through a natural funnel formed by mountains Huemul and Mascarelo.
